LENGGRIES

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen (until 1973 Bad Tölz)

Wappen von Lenggries
Official blazon
German

In Grün ein springender, golden bewehrter silberner Hirsch mit goldenem Geweih.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 4, 1939.

The arms are based on the seals of two local estate managers from the early 18th century, Johann Zöpfl and Andreas Kistner. The village was part of the Estate of the castle Hohenburg, who appointed the estate managers until 1848. The village itself therefore never had any seals of its own. The deer is also an appropriate symbol, as there are many forests in the municipality.
