Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 1, 1984.

The area historically belonged to the State of Augsburg and the Margraves of Burgau. The red and silver coloursa re taken from the arms of Augsburg, the golden pale is taken from the arms of Burgau. The three balls are taken from the arms of the Freyberg-Eisenberg estate in the municipality.

The axe is the symbol of St. Wolfgang, the patron saint of the village. The feather symbolises the Federspielmoos (Feder =feather), a natural reserve in the municipality.
