Lemu Kuntavaakuna / Kommunvapen

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 11, 1966.

The wheel refers to a local legend. When the villagers wanted to move their old wooden church, one of the carts with the new wood derailed. The villages thus decided to built the new church on that spot. Hence the combination of a wheel and a cross.

The clover leaves on the cross symbolise the agricultural character of the village.
