Origin/meaning

The arms above are not officially adopted by the municipality as far as I know, but where proposed in 1994.

The eagle was chosen as the symbol of the oldest known Lords of Quesnoy.
The first Lords of Quesnoy were mentioned in the 13^th century, as Robert and Herbert de Quesnoy. On a manuscript from the 15^th century the arms of the Lords of Quesnoy are mentioned as a black eagle on a golden field.
