Origin/meaning

The arms above are not officially adopted by the municipality as far as I know, but where proposed in 1994.

The eagle was chosen as the symbol of the oldest known Lords of Quesnoy.
The first Lords of Quesnoy were mentioned in the 13th century, as Robert and Herbert de Quesnoy. On a manuscript from the 15th century the arms of the Lords of Quesnoy are mentioned as a black eagle on a golden field.
