LE BIOT

Département : Haute-Savoie

Blason de Le Biot/Coat of arms (crest) of {{PAGENAME
Official blazon
French De gueules au chevron d'or accompagné de trois fleurs d'asphodèle d'argent.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in 1979.

The chevron refers to the Cistercian abbey of Tamié to which the area historically belonged. The asphodel flowers is canting bollium albucetum = bulb of asphodel.

The municipality uses the arms also with a chamois head on the chevron. This is not described in the Armorial des communes de la Haute Savoie issued by the departemental archives.
