Lauschied.jpg

Official blazon

Schild geteilt und unten gespalten. Oben in Silber ein wachsender, schwarzer rotbewehrter Adler, unten vorn in Blau ein durchgehendes goldenes Kreuz, hinten blau-gold geschacht.

Origin/meaning

The arms show an eagle, taken from the arms of Wolf, Count of Sponheim, one of the oldest known lords of the village. The cross is the symbol of St. George, the local patron saint. The checquered field is taken from the arms of the Lords of von Koppenstein, a branch of the Counts of Sponheim and lords of the village.
