Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on December 4, 1924.
The oldest seal of the town dates from 1538 and showed a quartered field with the lion of the Pfalz, the key of Worms, a star and a crescent. The origin or meaning of the latter two is not clear; they may be of religious origin or can indicate the local court of justice. Laumersheim belonged to the Amt Dirmstein, which was jointly ruled by the Counts of the Pfalz and the Abbey (Hochstift) of Worms.
Later the area became fully owned by the abbey and the arms were simplified to the present form on the new seal. An image of this seal is known from 1753.
