The arms are most likely derived from the arms of the Lords of Leublfing, who used a single bend. The local sheriff from 1263-1270 was of this family. The oldest seal dates from the same time and shows the arms under a chief with the arms of Bayern. Without the chief the arms are used on the seals since 1290. The colours are known since 1523. The second bend appears for the first time in the 16th century. Until the 18th century images are known with one and two bends, after that only two bends are used.

Origin/meaning

The arms are most likely derived from the arms of the Lords of Leublfing, who used a single bend. The local sheriff from 1263-1270 was of this family. The oldest seal dates from the same time and shows the arms under a chief with the arms of Bayern. Without the chief the arms are used on the seals since 1290. The colours are known since 1523. The second bend appears for the first time in the 16th century. Until the 18th century images are known with one and two bends, after that only two bends are used.
