Region : Catalonia
Province : Barcelona

Granada2.jpg

Official blazon

Escut caironat: d'or, una magrana tijada i fullada de sinople oberta de gules. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 23, 1993.

La Granada is situated in the Penedès region, famous for its wines and champagnes. The village has nothing to do with Granada in Andalusia, except the name, that has the same Latin origin, GRANATA, that's full of grain, fertile. The canting arms have a pomegranate that show its seeds.
