Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 22, 1989.

La Bisbal del Penedès was conceded, in the 11^th century, to the monastery of Sant Cugat del Vallès (this is symbolized by the mitre in the first partition). Later the village became a barony; the second partition shows the arms of the Salbà family, the barons of La Bisbal: a silver eagle embellished in red, and at the top of the arms there is also a baron crown.
