Wappen von Kranichstein/Arms of Kranichstein
Official blazon
German In Gold ein roter Volutengiebel, belegt mit einem goldenen Kranich, der im erhobenen linken Ständer einen blauen Stein hält

Origin/meaning

Kranichstein is a borough of Darmstadt, developed in the 1960s.

In 1989 the local association to promote the borough (Förderverein) adopted the arms with a canting crane (Kranich) holding a stone (Stein). The crane was placed in front of the gable of the local renaissance hunting estate/castle.
