Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on June 4, 2003.

The arms show an oak leaf for the forests and the woodworking industry in the area. St. Michael is the patron saint.

The previous arms were adopted on September 25, 1996.

Arms of Kostopil

The arms show basalt, a source of the local economy. The colours indicate the location of the city in Volhynia.
