Official blazon
German In geteiltem Schild oben in Grün ein wachsender, goldener, rot-bezungter Löwe, unten in Silber zwischen zwei roten Hirschstangen eine aufgerichtete, schwarze Wolfsangel.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 2, 1966.

The upper half shows a golden lion on a green field. This was the symbol chosen by the 8 villages that received many privileges in the 17th century. Kolshorn was one of these villages.

The lower half shows two deer antlers as a symbol for the forests and the rich wildlife in the area. The so-called wolf's iron is taken from the arms of the (former) district Burgdorf.
