  • (fi) Kultakentässä kyljellään musta tervatynnyri, jonka tapinreiästä ja pohjista lyövät punaiset tulenlieskat.
  • (sv) I fält av guld en liggande svart tjärtunna med röda eldflammor ur sprundet och båda bottnarna.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 17, 1956.

The arms are based on a seal from 1620 and show tar burning. The tar industry and trading used to be very important for the town.
