Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 18, 1966.

The arms are canting, showing a church (Kirche). Kirchheim was an imperial village until 1400 when it became a possession of the Counts of Württemberg. In 1683 it became a town, but the village already used seals since 1515. The oldest seal already shows the church. Ever since the church has been the arms of the town. During the centuries the number of towers increased to three, but in 1966 the arms were officially granted and based on the oldest seal. The colours are known since 1596.
