The arms are canting, showing a church (Kirche). Kirchheim was an imperial village until 1400 when it became a possession of the Counts of Württemberg. In 1683 it became a town, but the village already used seals since 1515. The oldest seal already shows the church. Ever since the church has been the arms of the town.
