Province: Opole
County: Głubczyce

Arms (crest) of Kietrz
Official blazon
Polish blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The origin of the arms of the city is not known.

Hupp sepculated that the arms or the lion are derived from the medieval Lords of Ka(t)zer, but there is no historical evidence fot that. The composition appeared on the seals of the city from 1651 and 1669 and has not changed since. The colours have differed widely during the centuries.
