KEMINMAA

Region : Lapland
Former province : Lapland

Keminmaa Kuntavaakuna / Kommunvapen

Official blazon

Punaisessa kentässä hyppäävä lohi, jonka leuassa riippulukko; kaikki hopeaa, paitsi lukossa musta avaimenreikä.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 4, 1955.

The salmon is taken from the old seal of the area and is a symbol for the importance of salmon fishing for the municipality. The lock symbolises the central (regional) position of the municipality.
