Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 3, 1954.

The arms are canting and show an oven used for burning chalk (Kalk-ofen means chalk-oven). The small blue shield with the silver wheel is derived from the arms of the Counts of Falkenstein, to whom the village historically belonged. The arms were newly devised in 1954, as no older arms of seals were known.
