The arms are based on the arms of the late medieval family Von Kotschen, who probably originated from the village.
The arms were adopted in 2000.
 
The ar,s show three falcons, a very common bird in the area. The three birds also symbolise the three villages in the municipality: Kötschlitz, Zschöchergen and Möritzsch.
 
The blue sides of the shield symbolise the many small brooks and rivers in the municipality.
