Escudo de Jorba

Official blazon

Escut caironat quarterat en sautor: 1r i 4t de gules, un cometa d'argent; 2n i 3r d'atzur, un castell d'or obert. Per timbre una corona de baró.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 13, 1995.

The castle of Jorba (shown duplicated in the arms) has been the centre of a barony since the 12th century, and because of that there is a baron's crown at the top of the arms. The silver comet on red are the canting arms of the Rajadell family, the barons of Jorba in the 15th century (the name Rajadell is derived from "raig", Catalan for ray).
