IFFWIL

Canton : Bern

Wappen von Iffwil/Arms (crest) of Iffwil
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The wall in the arms is of unknown origin. The claw is taken from the bear of Bern, as the village historically was directly ruled by the city, not by the district. The arms are known since 1780, the present composition was adopted in 1927.

Literature: Wappenbuch des Kantons Bern, 1981.
