Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1954 and were newly designed, as no older seals or arms were known.

The lower half shows the arms of the Lords of Hutten, who ruled the village until the late 15th century. Their successors in the area were the Counts of Hanau. The upper part of the arms thus shows a swan's wing, derived from the crest of the Counts of Hanau, a swan. Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
