Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 2019 as new village arms.

The arms are based on the design of the previous, non official arms, shown below.

Wappen von Hosena/Arms (crest) of Hosena

These non official arms until 2002 and continued as a village to use these arms util 2019.

The golden wall in blue is taken from the arms of the Oberlausitz region, see also the district arms. The oak tree is taken as a symbol for the medieval Lords von der Duba (Duba =oak) and the fact that the village name is derived from Hozd, meaning dry forest.

The fish refers to the previously poor diet of the people in the region. The quartz crystals refer to the quartz sand mining in the village for the glass industry.
