HOLTORF
State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Nienburg
Incorporated into : 1974 Nienburg (Weser)
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on September 29, 1965.
The chief is based on the medieval arms of the Lords of Holtorpe. The kettle-hook was a typical household item in earlier times and is used to symbolise the inhabitation and the farmers in the municipality. The oak leaf symbolises the woods in the municipality, and is canting for the Hol- part of the name (for Holz, wood).
