Der Schild ist sechsfach geständert, oben von Grün und Rot, unten von Silber und Grün und zeigt im Schnittpunkt der Ständer einen roten Kreis sowie oben im roten Ständer eine flügelbreitende wachsende silberne Gans, unten in den silbernen Ständern je ein abwärts gekehrtes grünes Eichenblatt und im grünen Ständer drei (1:2) silberne zunehmende Monde. |

Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on October 7, 2002.
The village is situated on the border of Thüringen, Hessen and Niedersachsen, which is symbolised by the division of the shield and the red dot. The goose ('Gander") is a canting element, the oak leaves refer to the local forests and the Eichsfeld district. The three crescents are taken from the arms of the Lords von Hanstein, lords of the village in the 14th century.
