HERGENSWEILER

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Lindau

Hergensw.jpg

Official blazon

In Silber eine breite, dreilatzige rote Fahne mit goldenen Fransen, darüber nebeneinander zwei grüne Lindenblätter, darunter eine rote heraldische Lilie.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on July 29, 1966.

The banner or gonfalon in the arms is taken from the arms of the Montfort Estate, to which the area historically belonged. The linden leaves symbolise the city of Lindau, to which the municipality belonged in the 19th century until 1850. The fleur-de-lis is derived from the arms of the local poet Hermann von Lingg.
