HENRIPONT

Province : Hainaut
Incorporated into : 1977 Braine-le-Comte

Armoiries de Henripont

Official blazon

D'azur à la bande d'or.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 26, 1926.

The arms are those as shown on the map of Hainaut in 1588. The arms are derived from the arms of the Moreau family, Lords of Henripont in the early 15th century. The arms also appeared on the seal of the village, dating from 1534. The seal showed two shields, one with the above arms, the other showing the arms of the Hemptinne family, successors of the Moreau family, indicating that the latter was now associated with the estate and no longer with the family.
