Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 12, 1993.

The crosier symbolises the Cistercian Abbey in Reifenstein, which had many possessions in the area. The sword is one of the symbols of St. Catherine, the local patron saint. The base shows three canting houses (Hausen).
