Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on October 8, 1985.

The arms show an oak leaf , which refers to the three large and special oak trees in the village. One is the Luther-Eiche, a tree planted in 1883 for the 400th anniversary of Martin Luther, the second is the Wilhelms-Eiche, planted in 1887 for the 90th birthday of Emperor Wilhelm I, and the third is the Jubileumseiche, planted in 1960 to celebrate 800 years of Harvesse.The two acorns refer to Ober- and Unterdorf, two parts of the village. The wavy bend symbolises the Aue river. The colours red and white refer to the Riddagshausen monastery, which owned the village until the 19th century.
