Wappen von Template:PAGENNAME

Official blazon

Unter rotem Schildhaupt, darin ein Rebmesser mit silberner Schneide und schwarzem Griff, in Gold an einem liegenden grünen Rebzweig eine blaue Traube mit zwei Blättern.

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1902 after a proposal of the State Archives of Baden.

The arms show a grape knife as well as a bunch of grapes. Both indicate the importance of viticulture for the village. The village use din the 19th century a seal with the arms of Baden, but already in the 14th century the sheriff of Haltingen, Johann Reyner, used a seal with a grape knife. A later 17th century manuscript also refers to the knife as the village symbol. But no seals with such a knife for the village exist.
