Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The cross in the first quarter is taken as a symbol for the chapel founded on the place of the present village in 1193 by monks of the nearby Göllingen abbey. The fish symbolises the (historical) importance of fishing and aquaculture for the local people. The red beech symbolises the dark beech which was first grown in the village in 1680 as a natural mutant, and which since has spread over Europe.
