Wappen von Höxter

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 1, 1970, but have been used since the 19th century.

Höxter received city rights in the early 13th century. The oldest seals date from the late 13th century and both show a type of church. The arms, however, are based on the second seal, known since 1285.
