Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 19, 2000.

The arms refer to the patron saint of the village, St. George, who, as a knight, killed a dragon with his sword. The red cross is his symbol and points to kill the dragon in the arms. The red and silver are the colours of St. George as well the colours of the arms of the Counts of Beichlingen, to whom the village belonged until 1505. The green also refers to the peppermint cultivation in the village.
