Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 29, 2004.

The fish is a canting element and was, together with a bishop, also part of the old village seal since the 16th century. The wavy division line and the fish also refer to the Scherkonde river, which is rich in fish. The grapes refer to the former importance of viticulture in the area.
