Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on July 12, 1993.

The upper part of the arms shows a farm-gate with the wheel of the State of Mainz. The village historically was a possession of the State of Mainz and the bishops of Mainz owned eight large farmsteads in the village. The lower half shows three juniper berries. Juniper trees are very common in the region and the berries are used in local products.
