Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 4, 1938.

The arms show in the base a brick factory, which were common from the 15th to the 20th century, due to the presence of suitable clay. Around 20 different factories operated in the municipality in the 19th century. The name is also derived from Gline, meaning clay.

The cherries are a symbol for horticulture, which started in the early 20th century.
