GLANEGG

State : Kärnten
District : Feldkirchen

Arms (crest) of Glanegg
Official blazon
German blazon wanted !
English

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 22, 1993.

The lion is taken from the arms of the medieval Dukes of Glanegg, known since the 13th century. The colours, however, were changed from blue to red, to distinguish the arms from the family arms.

The two oak leaves symbolise the local large oak tree, the Friedeloseiche, a tree around which convicts could get asylum. The three pine branches refer to the local church of Maria Feicht (Fihte-pine tree) in the municipality.
