Origin/meaning

The arms were devised in 1958 and show in the upper part the main agricultural crops, wheat and grapes. The lower part shows a hook, which was already used in the 18^th century in local arms. It's origin is not known.

The seals of the town never showed arms or images related to the present arms; but showed St. Mauritius. Based on this, the original proposal for arms in 1958 showed a moor's head (the symbol of St.Mauritius) as well as a cross (of Worms). The municipality finally decided on the present arms.
