Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 26, 1937.

The arms are based on the arms of the Knight Floria Geyer, born in Giebelstadt in 1490. He was an important diplomat and the leader of the so-called Black troops in the farmer's revolt in 1525. He is still honoured in the town by the Florian Geyer festival, which was first held in 1925.
