Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 29, 1952.

The arms show the lion of the Counts of Saarbrücken-Commercy, who owned the village for a long time. The three crosses also refer to the three villages of Gersweiler, Ottenhausen and Aschbach. The black colour refers to the coal mining and the seven bricks to the 700th anniversary of the village in 1952.
