GERMAN-NETHERLANDS TANK BATTALION 414

History: This mixed German-Netherlands Tank Battalion was formed in 2015 containig in its 4th Squadron the last 17 Leopard 2 Main Battle Tanks of the Dutch Army.

Origin/meaning

The St George Emblem was used by all the Armoured Regiments of the Dutch Army and probably was chosen to represent this. St George is also a symbol of Knights, and the modern day Tanks can be seen as the inheritor of the Armoured Cavalry of the Knights.
