Administrative division
Georgia is divided into 9 regions, 1 city, and 2 autonomous republics. These in turn are subdivided into 69 districts, which are divided into cities and villages.
The regions are:
- Guria
- Imereti
- Kakheti
- Kvemo Kartli
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti
- Samtskhe-Javakheti
- Shida Kartli
- Tskinvali or South Ossetia (de facto independent)
The autonomous republics are :
- Abkhazia
- Adjaria
Civic heraldry
Not (yet) many of the districts, cities, towns and villages use arms, but the number is increasing.
