Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 3, 1951.

The arms show a man with a spade and a tree. The arms may be canting, roden means clearing of the forest. The composition already appeared on the 17th century seal of the town. In the late 18th century the man was shown as a miner, but still holding the tree.
