Wappen von Freudenstadt (kreis)

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 28, 1926, and is thus one of the oldest arms of districts.

The arms show a grouse, being a very common bird in the area, which if often hunted for. The grouse is not taken from any historical arms, nor of any arms of the major towns in the county. The colours are the colours of Württemberg.
