Origin/meaning

The arms were devised in 1948 for the Asminderød-Grønholt municipality and continued in 1971 by the new municipality.

The arms show a crown as a symbol for the Fredensborg Castle. The ears show the agriculture, the oak leaves the forests and forestry and the base symbolises the fisheries in the Esrum Lake and the Øresund.
