District : Feldkirch

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 2, 1969.

The sun in the upper part is derived from the arms of the Sonnenberg Estate, to which the area historically belonged. The horn refers to a local story. In 1499 during the battle of Frastranz, a small shephard boy discovered in the mountains a patrol of Swiss soldiers. He blew his horn to warn his own people.
