English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on September 15, 2011.

The chevron and the lily are taken from the arms of the Mailly family, last Lords of Franchevelle. The waves on the chevron refer to the different streams and rivers, as well as the 4 main (small) lakes in the municipality. The lily is also the symbol of St. Vaudre, the local patron saint.

The five stars are taken from the arms of the last Baron Bouvier, who contributed a lot to the development of the village. The beech and oak branches in the chief symbolise the importanc eo fthe local forests for the municipality.

The silver and red are the dominant colours of the arms of the families that owne dthe village in historical times.
