Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 27, 1970.

The two stars are taken from the arms of the Swiss canton of Wallis as the original settlers in the area came from Wallis. The scales are the symbol for the longtime court that was held in Fontanella. The green colour symbolises nature and agriculture.

Literature : Burmeister, 1975
